Dolly-Parton
Born on Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a low-income family that would ultimately consist of 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to overcome the challenges of her life through her vivid and broad imagination. She was writing songs before she learned to write or read. The guitar that she first received was presented to her at the age of eight. The singer began her singing career at the Knoxville Tenn station by the age of 11. Gold Band Records is a tiny, independent label. In high school she established herself in the local community, yet she yearned for having a bigger stage. The day she graduated the high school in 1964. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) and Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated tv show required a new singer at around this time. Parton became a member of Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing in 1969 with RCA Records. It was not until 1974 when she made the decision to quit Wagoner's band because the popularity of her own solo records such as Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene exceeded their collective efforts. Parton recorded "I will Always Be Loving You" for Wagoner shortly after they separated. The song hit No. 1. for the first time in 1974.
