Lucy Liu is an American actor, voice actress, director producer and a singer. She's a beautiful, skilled actress that has inspired numerous Asian actors to be successful in Hollywood. After several appearances in popular TV shows that made her famous, she was cast in The Ally McBeal legal comedy where she was Ling Woo. Her fame exploded into films roles like Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. She then delivered a superlative performance as Japanese crime lord O-Ren in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. The actress also played the lead role in films that failed at the box office, such as Rise: Blood Hunter. After that, she started to voice prominent characters in animated films like Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small-screen characters failed to bring her any success. Southland an critically acclaimed series of police dramas that involved Liu in multiple role, allowed her to re-establish herself. Liu is extremely cautious when making her choices so it doesn't result in her being isolated in an extremely competition-driven industry. She's accepted her Chinese background, but doesn't let it hinder her creative abilities.
